How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Casablanca – The Road to the Red City

Your adventure begins at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport, where a private chauffeur will greet you. You will be transferred directly to Marrakech (approx. 2 hours), the legendary "Red City" nestled near the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. After checking into your hotel, enjoy the evening at your leisure, perhaps witnessing the transformation of the famous Djemaa el-Fna square into a vibrant open-air theater.

Day 02 :

Marrakech Sightseeing & Cultural Immersion

Dedicate the day to exploring Marrakech with a local guide. The tour highlights the city's architectural prowess, including the towering Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadian Tombs, and the ornate Bahia Palace. Wander through the labyrinthine souks to see traditional handicrafts, spices, and leather goods. Day 03 :

Crossing the High Atlas to the Valley of Roses

Depart Marrakech and ascend the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, stopping for panoramic photos and a traditional breakfast in a Berber village. Your destination is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a historic ksar where a local guide will share its fascinating history. Continue the journey through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura Palm Grove, arriving in the Dades Valley for the night.

Day 04 :

Canyons to Dunes – The Sahara Desert Experience

After breakfast, drive the "Road of 1000 Kasbahs" to Tinghir and the majestic Todra Gorges, where cliffs rise 300 meters high. Take time to trek along the canyon floor before heading toward the desert gateway of Erfoud. Upon reaching the golden dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi), embark on a 1.5-hour sunset camel ride to your private bivouac. The evening features drumming with camel drivers, dinner, and sleeping under the stars.

Day 05 :

Middle Atlas Mountains to Fes

Wake early to capture the sunrise over the dunes—a photographer's dream. Return by camel to the lodge for a shower and breakfast before traveling north. The route passes through the Ziz Valley, Errachidia, and Midelt, eventually reaching the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to wild Barbary monkeys. Continue through the Middle Atlas region to arrive in Fes by evening.

Day 06 :

Spiritual Fes – The Oldest Imperial City

Explore Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco, with a local guide. Navigate the medieval alleyways of the Medina to visit the Royal Palace gate, the historic Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and the Al Qaraouine University—the oldest in the world. Discover the famous tanneries and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. End the tour with a visit to a tile cooperative and a panoramic view over the entire Medina.

Day 07 :

Capital Cities – Rabat to Casablanca

Travel to Rabat, the political capital of Morocco. Here, you will visit the Hassan Tower, the Oudayas Kasbah, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the Royal Palace gates. After lunch, continue along the coast to Casablanca to view the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world. Enjoy a final free evening walking along the beach promenade.

Departure
