How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

Day 01 :

Welcome to Marrakech

Upon landing at Marrakech Airport, you will be greeted by a private driver holding a sign with your name. After transferring to your Riad or Hotel for check-in, feel free to take a first stroll through the historic Medina to soak in the atmosphere, depending on your arrival time.

Day 02 :

The Red City – Guided Marrakech Tour

Join a knowledgeable local guide to uncover the secrets of Marrakech. The half-day walking tour includes the colorful souks and iconic monuments such as the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the Bahia and Badii Palaces. You will also visit the world-famous Jemaa El Fna square. In the afternoon, explore the modern city with a visit to the enchanting Majorelle Garden, once owned by Yves Saint-Laurent.

Day 03 :

Coastal Escape – Day Trip to Essaouira

Depart at 8:00 AM for a private excursion to the Atlantic coast. The drive offers views of argan trees and roadside villages, including a stop at a women’s argan oil cooperative to see how cosmetics and oil are produced. In Essaouira, wander the Portuguese-style medina at your own pace, browsing art galleries and listening to Gnawa music. Enjoy fresh seafood lunch near the ocean before returning to Marrakech.

Day 04 :

Crossing the High Atlas to the Valley of Roses

Leave Marrakech and traverse the High Atlas Mountains via the stunning Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m). Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified Kasbah used as a backdrop for films like Gladiator and The Mummy. Continue through Ouarzazate to visit the film studios and Taourirt Kasbah, then travel the "Road of 1000 Kasbahs" past the Skoura palm groves. End the day in the Dades Gorges via the Valley of Roses.

Day 05 :

Canyons & Dunes – The Sahara Desert Experience

After breakfast, explore the Todra Gorges, where massive rock walls rise 300 meters above a narrow canyon popular with climbers. Continue the journey to Merzouga to witness the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi. Pack a small bag and switch to camels for a magical sunset trek across the sands. Spend the night in a tented desert camp.

Day 06 :

Atlas Mountains to Fes

Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes before riding camels back to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. The drive north passes through the Ziz Oasis and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop for lunch in Midelt and visit the Cedar Forest in Azrou to photograph wild Barbary apes

. Before arriving in Fes, make a brief stop in Ifrane, known as "Little Switzerland" for its European architecture.

Day 07 :

Spiritual Fes – Guided City Tour

Discover the oldest of the Imperial Cities with an expert guide. The tour takes you inside the walled medina to see the Quaraouiyine Mosque (founded in 859), the Andalusian Mosque, and the 13th-century Medersas. Highlights also include the Nejjarine Fountain, the Batha Palace museum, the sensory experience of the Chouwara tanneries, and the iconic Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud).

Day 08 :

Roman Ruins & The Road to Chefchaouen

Depart Fes to visit the holy town of Moulay Idriss, a panoramic hilltop site significant to Islamic history. Continue to the UNESCO-protected Roman ruins of Volubilis for a guided tour of ancient history. Afterward, drive through the Rif Mountains to reach the famous "Blue Pearl," Chefchaouen.

Day 09 :

The Blue City & Hassan II Mosque

Spend the morning exploring the blue-washed streets of Chefchaouen, including Uta el-Hammam square, the Kasbah, and the Ras El-Maa waterfall. After lunch, travel to Casablanca to visit the Hassan II Mosque, the second-largest mosque in Africa featuring the world's second-tallest minaret.

Day 10 :

Departure

Enjoy leisure time until your private transfer takes you to the airport for your flight home.
